Martin O’Neill is keen to take Leicester City midfielder Andy King on loan to Nottingham Forest, according to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett.

The reporter for the broadcaster claimed via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that O’Neill wanted to borrow the services of the 30-year-old, who earns £40,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac) but that number of Championship sides were interested.

Dorsett stated that King hadn’t made a decision regarding a potential a move as he was yet to decide which option suited him best.

“Understand Martin O’Neill is interested in taking #lcfc midfielder Andy King on loan to #nffc. But King has a number of Championship options, and has yet to decide which suits him best,” tweeted the journalist.

Good move for Forest?

100%.

Forest are showing real ambition by pursuing King as he’s destined to have a lot of suitors in this window and it would be fantastic for them if they successfully got his services.

King is an experienced player and could be a vital presence in Forest’s midfield with them looking to kick-on in the second half of the season, especially as he can plays as a defensive or attacking midfielder.

With the 30-year-old being a potential loan deal for Forest then they could get a very talented player without breaking the bank, but his wage packet may be a cause for concern.

Also while King could make a difference, O’Neill already has plenty of midfield options.

Likely to happen?

Given that King hasn’t featured for the Foxes first-team all season, bar an 18 minute cameo in the FA Cup, then he surely heading for the exiting door in the current window.

The only question is whether Forest can get his services as with there being competition for him, O’Neill will likely have to battle hard to convince him that the Forest Ground is where he should be.

However it wouldn’t be a surprise if O’Neill was successfully with his quest, it just maybe case of working out how to deal with his current Leicester wage.
