COMMENTARY
Newcastle United defeated Cardiff City 3-0 on Saturday in the Premier League and lots of Magpies supporters were blown away by the display of midfielder Sean Longstaff. The 21-year-old midfielder had fans draping him in praise and one even claiming that he was as good as Frank Lampard. The Premier League legend, who now manages Derby County, won the league title three times and appeared 609 times in England top-flight. Aside from racking up the appearances, Lampard also impressively scored 177 goals so for one Magpies fan to believe he is on the same level, than is praise indeed. Longstaff has recently been handed an opportunity to feature for the Magpies’ first-team and it seems that he is intent on making the most of it. While Rafa Benitez likely only turned to the to the youngster due to not having many midfielders to choose from, it has turned out to be a genius decision on his part. Hopefully Longstaff can keep impressing as the season goes on.
