Cardiff City are expected to officially announce the loan signing of Everton striker Oumar Niasse this morning, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster report in their live transfer blow [08:30] that there had been a slight problem with the paperwork regarding the deal but that has now been resolved.

Sky Sports claim that an announcement is expected imminently from the Bluebirds, who are also said to be close to signing Nantes forward Emiliano Sala.

Good move for Everton?

Yes.

Niasse has clearly been deemed surplus to requirements at Goodison Park by manager Marco Silva, and there was no point keeping him around this month.

Letting him join a Premier League team is always a risk but Cardiff and Everton are not really in direct competition so a move to Wales does make sense.

Everton will hope that he performs well in Cardiff so they can sell him on for a potential profit in the summer.

Likely to happen?

Yes, this one looks like it is all but confirmed.

This is a deal which has been in the pipeline for a long time now, and it looks like all the details have finally been ironed out.

Expect an official announcement from Cardiff in the coming hours.
