Everton are set to launch a deadline day move to snap up the permanent signing of Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi as the Blues look for £35million for his capture, according to reliable journalist Ed Aarons.

The Guardian’s deputy editor claims on his personal Twitter account that the Toffees are hopeful of securing the Belgium international’s capture before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday, having been linked with a loan move earlier this month.

It is stated that they are now looking to do a permanent deal and that the 23-cap striker has had a price tag of around £35million slapped on his head at Stamford Bridge.

Good move for Everton?

The Toffees are in desperate need of someone to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis and Batshuayi fits that bill quite nicely.

He has not really been given much of a run at Chelsea while in England and so there are still some question marks over whether he can provide the constant goal threat needed at Goodison Park.

With 12 goals in his 23 international appearances he obviously has a talent but there are also doubts over his attitude and application, having struggled to make an impact in La Liga with Valencia in the first half of this season.

At £35million it is a big gamble for Everton to make and they have found themselves stung in the past.

Likely to happen?

Everton seem desperate and Chelsea seem willing to sell and so this is definitely a move to keep an eye on come Thursday.

It has been left awfully late and so there is no guarantee it will happen but the two sides will work hard to try and pull it off.
