OPINION

Towards the start of the season, Wolves player Leander Dendoncker was not even making it nowhere near the first team.

It is an odd decision to make, especially when you sign a player like him on loan – however, supporters have no doubt started to take notice of the 23-year-old lately.

Nuno Espirito Santo has started him in the last three matches – including the recent one against Leicester – and it is safe to say that he has proved everybody wrong with his assured displays.

In fact, he is has proved undroppable for the Molineux outfit, and Nuno would be crazy to axe him from the starting XI from now on.

He operates as a defensive midfielder, but his versatility would allow him to play at centre-back if needed, an attribute that the manager undoubtedly appreciates highly.

His passing accuracy is a sight to behold, and even though he is supposed to have a defensive mindset, it is safe to say that he is rather impressive when he goes forward too.

Nuno is obviously kicking himself for not starting the young dazzler sooner, as he really could have made a real impact to their season a lot earlier than expected.

The manager needs to start him in the defensive midfield on a regular basis from now on, as it clearly is not a coincidence that the team’s form has started to improve now that he is playing.

Wolves are incredibly lucky to have a player like him on their books, and other clubs will no doubt be envious of how versatile he is week in, week out.

He has definitely established himself as a mainstay for Wolves in recent times, and he will certainly make himself a fan favourite if he continues to blow everyone away.

The Belgian is simply undroppable for Nuno – and the faster he realises that, the better.
