Wolverhampton Wanderers could allow summer signing Leander Dendoncker to leave on loan in January, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper report that the Belgium international faces an uncertain future at Molineux after making just four appearances in all competitions since his summer switch from Anderlecht.

The Telegraph claim that the 23-year-old could possibly leave the club on a temporary deal in the now-open January window, with several overseas clubs linked with a move elsewhere.

Good move for Wolves?

Not particularly.

Dendoncker may not have played much under Nuno Espirito Santo so far this season, but offloading him on loan just six months after his arrival seems slightly premature.

The Belgium international is obviously a talented player, and some new arrivals need some time to adapt to their new surroundings and the pace of Premier League football.

Once he gets going he could be a real asset for the club, and offloading him now would stunt his ability to develop into that player for Wolves.

Likely to happen?

It is hard to say, but there are most certainly some questions to be asked about the technicalities of such a deal.

Dendoncker is technically on loan from Anderlecht at the moment, with Wolves agreeing to make the deal permanent in the summer.

How they would negotiate him going out on loan to another club is not clear, and makes you think that this may not happen after all.
