OPINION
Despite his obvious improvements this season, Alex Iwobi is still not everyone’s cup of tea. The Nigeria international was massively hyped when he was coming through the Arsenal academy, but has not seemed to push on as much as expected since then. The 22-year-old is still young, and has definitely improved under Unai Emery, who has made him a regular this season. Iwobi was indeed selected to start against Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night, and his performance in the first half left a lot to be desired. Up against Ashley Young on the left flank, Iwobi struggled to make inroads into the United defence. There were a couple of promising moments, including a shot which he should have actually squared to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – indicative of Iwobi’s struggles. The half ended 2-1 to the visitors, and the Gunners really need Iwobi to step up in the second period.
