Marko Arnautovic has been slammed by a talkSPORT broadcaster as an “idiot” after going public with his desire to quit West Ham for China.
Georgie Bingham took to her personal Twitter account on Thursday evening to respond after Arnautovic’s brother and agent Daniel released a statement to the radio station revealing he wants the club to accept a £35million bid from an unnamed Chinese club this month.
She insisted she would have “absolutely no sympathy” for the Austria international’s career if he quit the Premier League at his peak for an eye-wateringly lucrative deal.
Arnautovic is an idiot if he goes to China. I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone’s career if, at their peak, they go there. No money is worth that.

Bingham was surely speaking for the entire West Ham fanbase up in arms at the prospect of their best player and prize asset abruptly leaving the club this month. That is now a very real prospect after the Austrian powerful released a statement to talkSPORT via his brother making it clear that he wants out, and wants out right now. A £40million, four-year contract is said to be on offer from an unnamed Chinese club, which would represent more than double he is earning at West Ham. Arnautovic would certainly end up wealthy beyond most people’s dreams if he gets his own way, but it would be professional suicide for a player who still has so much to offer. He turns 30 in a few months, but is playing the best football of his career and has just come off the back year of his career after adjusting so well to a new central striker role at West Ham. His agent brother should be working on getting him a move to a Champions League giant rather than a minor league where the money far outshines the quality of the football or the competitive challenge.
