Tottenham delivered their pre-press conference fitness update on Friday lunchtime, and the news is that Lucas Moura is set for a fitness test on his knee injury before Sunday’s game.

Eric Dier is back in training but won’t be back in time for the game and Victor Wanyama is still out injured.

The official fitness update was quoted by ESPN journalist Ben Pearce on Friday.

OPINION

Bad news for Tottenham. Lucas Moura missed the Chelsea semi-final cup clash with an injury but it was hoped that he would be back in time for the huge Premier League game against Man United. He faces a race against time now, with his knee injury still causing him problems. Dier and Wanyama were not expected to be back in time for Sunday. The game is the first real test for United’s new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and a good time for Pochettino to stamp his title credentials down in a meaningful game. The good news for Spurs is that man-of-the-moment Heung-min Son is available in what will be his last game before he jets off to the Asian Cup. He’ll be a big miss when he’s gone but he can help in the short-term by carrying on his phenomenal scoring record against United at Wembley. He’s scored eight in his last nine league games.
