Leeds United must make a move to sign Burnley attacker Robbie Brady before the January transfer window slams shut within the next couple of weeks.

Marcelo Bielsa is clearly eyeing up improvements to his attack and has sounded out a number of left-sided wingers who he could sign before the end of the month.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that Swansea’s Daniel James and Bristol City’s Callum O’Dowda are targets for the Whites as they aim to win promotion to the Premier League in the second half of the season, but signing Brady, 27, would surely be a much better way for Bielsa to win the Championship title.

Brady has experience of playing in both the Championship and the Premier League, having helped Hull to promotion with a second-placed finish in 2012/13.

The 41-times Republic of Ireland international has since played regularly for Norwich and Burnley, but he is now in the final 18 months of his £35,000-a-week (Spotrac) contract at Turf Moor and there’s surely a chance that Leeds can snatch him away from the Clarets.

Sean Dyche has also only handed Brady five Premier League starts this season, so there is definitely a chance that he would consider cashing in on the ex-Manchester United winger.

Leeds must make a bid for the Irish ace as soon as possible.

He is only 27-years-old, has the quality required to play for a top, title-chasing Championship side and is definitely a better bet for Leeds to seal promotion this term than James and O’Dowda.

Even if it is just on loan for the rest of the season with the view to a deal being made permanent, the Whites are better off signing someone who is tried and tested in England’s top two tiers than a player struggling to play regularly for Swansea or a player who hasn’t looked overly impressive for Bristol City.
