It’s time for Leeds to start doing some positive business in the January transfer window.

They’ve known that they needed a new senior goalkeeper as soon as Jamal Blackman was injured in November, but he’s still to be replaced.

Meanwhile, Leeds fans have had to watch rivals strengthening, with Aston Villa adding Croatia international keeper Lovre Kalinic for £5.4million as soon as the window opened.

Karl Darlow was Leeds’ first-choice but Newcastle want £4million for him and Leeds want a loan move. If that’s the case they really need to focus on Premier League side Burnley.

They’ve got three England keepers in Tom Heaton, Nick Pope and Joe Hart, and a report in the Sun today claimed that Preston want to bring in Hart on loan.

Hart has endured a miserable time at Burnley since his £3.5m move from Man City and was dropped for the last two games in favour of Heaton.

It is thought that one of the Burnley keepers will go in January and any one of them would be an upgrade on Bailey Peacock-Farrell, but if Hart is available, Victor Orta must pounce now.

The England international is one of the best shot-stoppers in the game and would surely lead Leeds back to the Premier League.

He would be a class above in the Championship and would single-handedly win Leeds six or seven points in the second-half of the season.

That could be the difference between automatic promotion or the play-offs and he would be worth every penny Leeds would have to spend on him.

Would he be willing to drop down into the Championship? We don’t know of any Premier League sides who would take him at the moment.
