COMMENTARY

It appears as though the majority of Leeds United fans are supportive of Will Huffer’s temporary exit from Elland Road to Barnet on loan – although the fact it is a short term deal does have one or two scratching their heads. Leeds have of course suffered their problems between the sticks this season, Jamal Blackman’s injury leaving Huffer to act as Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s deputy. The youngster – Huffer, not Peacock-Farrell – even made his debut this season when his counterpart was injured himself. With Kiko Casilla arriving this month and taking his place in the first team it makes perfect sense that Huffer should leave in search of game time and the month-long agreement means that should the Whites suffer another casualty, be that through injury or suspension, Huffer will be back in no time to fill the void. Could the club have been a bit more ambitious with where they sent him, Barnet in the National League? It is a relatively good stepping stone where Huffer can cut his teeth and you need only look at how Peacock-Farrell worked his way from a short spell at York City to first team regular last season to see how quickly things can change.
