COMMENTARY
Saturday afternoon at Stoke City was not the finest 90 minutes for any Leeds United player but midfielder Adam Forshaw took much of the brunt from the Elland Road faithful. There was a lack of control in the middle of the park in the Potteries and the central talent was a key part of the problem. His passing left a lot to be desired and his pot shots from distance did nothing to trouble Jack Butland in between the sticks. Some fans thought that he was like Leeds flop Eunan O’Kane while others thought he was trying, and failing, to replicate the performances of Barcelona and Argentina legend Lionel Messi. Either way, this was a display lacking in the desired quality and if Leeds are to push for the Championship title this season he has to improve sooner rather than later. If he cannot put in better performances then the Whites are going to struggle not only to secure top spot but to finish in the automatic promotion spots. Worrying times.
This is Futbol has picked out a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
Adam Forshaw thinking he’s Lionel Messi before he is run off the ball/shoots wide because he is only Adam Forshaw

Kilch Forshaw and Harrison not in this game. Poor start

Nobody attacking crosses into the box. Forshaw shooting is as bad as his passing. Ayling & Klich bad too. Shocking display so far.

I want to see Forshaw score as much as the next guy, but he needs to be passing more of these final balls. Tries ridiculous efforts. #LUFC

Forshaw echoing his inner Eunan O’Kane today. #lufc
