Leeds United are in the hunt to sign Hoffenheim attacker Steven Zuber, according to BILD.

The German newspaper claims that the Bundesliga club are willing to cash in on the 27-year-old winger in the January transfer window, but there are doubts about whether he would want to head to England’s second-tier.

Zuber has struggled for regular game-time for Hoffenheim this season, appearing 13 times across all competitions, scoring one goal in the process which came against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

Good move for Leeds?

Marcelo Bielsa could really do with some reinforcements added to his squad in January, and Zuber would be a superb boost to his attack.

The Switzerland international, who scored against Brazil in the 2018 World Cup, is very versatile and can play on both wings or an as attacking central midfielder.

With the amount of injuries that Leeds have, it would be good to have someone else in their squad who can play in multiple position likes Pablo Hernandez.

Zuber would more than likely walk straight into the starting line-up to replace Ezgjan Alioski as well, so he would definitely be a terrific buy for the Yorkshire giants.

Likely to happen?

It does not seem as though it will.

Zuber is not playing much football for Hoffenheim this season, but he is playing enough to mean that moving to the Championship is not a good idea for him.

BILD reports that he might not be keen on the idea and Bielsa is unlikely to do much business in January anyway.
