Eros Grezda will miss Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday night, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claims that the 23-year-old attacker is suffering with an ankle injury and will join Connor Goldson, Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy in missing the trip to Ayrshire.

Grezda was pictured using crutches and wearing a protective boot at the Gers’ mid-season training camp in Tenerife earlier this month.

OPINION

Steven Gerrard will definitely want a full squad of players available to him as Rangers prepare to return to competitive action after the winter break, but Grezda’s absence won’t have any kind of impact on the team. Since being signed from Osijek in the summer, Grezda has been a bit of a let down. The Albania international has made 14 appearances in all competitions, scoring just two goals in the process, which both came in the 7-1 hammering of Motherwell in mid-November. Ryan Kent has been by far and away Rangers’ best option on the left-wing and whenever Grezda has had to play, you don’t get the feel as though he is going to be on the books at Ibrox for very long. This injury isn’t going to help him change that perception, especially as Rangers are facing a crowded fixture schedule over the next couple of weeks after the Scottish Cup clash with Cowdenbeath was postponed last week.
