Galatasaray are in the hunt to sign Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe, according to CNN Turk.

The Turkish broadcaster claims that the 25-year-old is a target of the Istanbul giants now that the January transfer window is open.

It is understood that Leeds fans will be furious with the news in the same way that they were when former White Harry Kewell joined Galatasaray in 2008.

Two Leeds supporters were stabbed to death when they played against Galatasaray in a UEFA Cup semi-final in April 2000.

Good move for Leeds?

Could there be a worse move for the club?

Roofe has been sensational for the Whites this season and is their top scorer with 13 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions and it is unlikely that the club would be able to replace him with someone just as good this month.

If Leeds let him go there will be a major uproar from the fans just for the thought of doing business with Galatasaray.

Likely to happen?

Andrea Radrizzani has done a good job of making himself popular among the Leeds fans, but that relationship would be irreparable if he was to accept anything from Galatasaray for any of their players – even if it was a huge bid.

There is no way that Roofe will be leaving Elland Road this month, let alone for them.
