OPINION
Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley produced a hugely encouraging performance in his team’s 4-2 win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday. The former Huddersfield Town man opened the scoring with a fine strike and really helped set the tone for a positive day for Martin O’Neill’s side. The 26-year-old hasn’t looked like himself in recent weeks, producing a disappointing number of sub par performances as Forest toiled until Aitor Karanka’s departure. It didn’t help that he’s been playing on the right hand side of late rather than his more natural left, and we saw the difference on Saturday. He is clearly far better suited to the left hand side than the right and it showed with a performance that was far more like what we’ve become accustomed to from Lolley at the City Ground. He is a key player for Forest and when he plays well everybody else in a Forest shirt tends to as well. Credit to him for rebounding in fine fashion on Saturday.
