West Bromwich Albion are chasing a loan deal for Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings, according to The Sun

The newspaper report that Mings could be made available on loan by Eddie Howe as he seeks regular minutes having played just seven times for the Cherries all season.

The Sun claim that the deal could hinge on Bournemouth’s proposed deal for Brentford centre-back Chris Mepham, with West Brom offering Mings the chance of regular football.

Good move for West Brom?

Absolutely.

Mings is a talented player who has had rotten luck with injuries in recent seasons, with several setbacks stunting his development and limiting his chances at the Vitality.

The 25-year-old enforcer would be able to provide cover for the Baggies at both centre-back and left-back, which would be a huge boost for Darren Moore heading into the business end of the season.

Mings is also experienced in the Championship from his days at Ipswich, and that will help him settle in quickly at the Hawthorns.

Likely to happen?

It looks like the deal for Mepham is inching closer for the Cherries, with Howe holding a long-term interest in the young enforcer.

Once that is completed then the door will open for Mings to make his way to the Midlands, with West Brom looking a likely destination for the 25-year-old.
