West Brom have tabled a contract offer to controversial Fulham centre-forward Aboubakar Kamara, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim the Baggies are trying to get a last-gasp deal for the 23-year-old over the finish line amid “a number of offers from Turkey, notably from Yeni Malatyaspor”.

The Mail report Kamara is currently weighing up the offer from West Brom, who are eager to take Kamara on loan for the rest of the season after a series of disciplinary incidents at his current club.

Good move for West Brom?

Yes, if Darren Moore and his coaching staff can successfully channel the frustration of the temperamental Frenchman. Kamara should be a real force back in the Championship and he already has promotion on his CV after scoring seven league goals for the Cottagers last season. The striker has actually done pretty well in the Premier League this campaign. He has netted five times in 15 starts, just seven of which have been starts, and has demonstrated he is a force to be reckoned with. West Brom have two quality strikers already in their ranks in Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez, but Kamara could provide intense competition for places.

Likely to happen?

It’s certainly possible, although much will depend upon whether the player is convinced he would get the game time he has not been afforded at Fulham. Kamara won’t want to head to the Hawthorns to be sat on the bench again.
