Rodney Marsh applauded Leeds United fans for never deserting their team despite years of struggle after talkSPORT reporter Tony Incenzo highlighted that 3,000 fans attended the FA Cup clash with Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

The outspoken pundit agreed with Incenzo heaping praise on Leeds, via his Twitter account, for how many fans attended the match with QPR while delivering his verdict on them.

The talkSPORT reporter claimed that the Whites were on their way back to the top while predicting them to do well in the Premier League if they won promotion, something Marsh seemed to agree with by tweeting spot on.

“Spot on, fans never deserted the team through years of struggle,” tweeted Marsh via his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Leeds may have crashed out of the FA Cup courtesy of QPR after losing 2-1 to them but fans will appreciate Marsh tweeting his praise for supporters. It’s hard to disagree with the usually controversial pundit with his assessment of Leeds fans as there would be few who would not be impressed without how loyal the fan base has remained. While some Leeds fans will argue that it was never in doubt that support would stay strong for their club, it still deserves praise. While the Whites have suffered disappointment in the FA Cup, they need to brush themselves down and get back focused on trying to escape the Championship. The Leeds have suffered some disappointing results of late but you’d still back them to continue steaming ahead as the season progresses in order to ensure they’re playing Premier League football next season. However then again given the rollercoaster ride that it is supporting Leeds, maybe supporters won’t believe their finally set to be back in top-flight until it is made all official.
