COMMENTARY
Nottingham Forest defeated Leeds United 4-2 on Tuesday and several players had Forest fans gushing about their ability. Yet one of the players to be heavily draped in plaudits by a large section of supporters on social media was attacker Daryl Murphy. The 35-year-old was one of the goalscorers for Forest against Leeds in their impressive win and his overall display didn’t go unnoticed by supporters. One claimed that it was Murphy’s best game for the club while others simply purred over his quality finish that got him a goal. Though one Forest fan may have gone a little too far by boldly comparing the forward to Atletico Madrid attacker Diego Costa in his prime. While Murphy can at times not be the player Forest fans wish he was, against Leeds he was at his best. It was good to see as the veteran always tends to give his all for the club and it was nice to see him rewarded for his efforts.

Colback and Murphy brilliant today. Osborne and his fresh legs coming on made all the difference. Some tired looking players out there #NFFC

Since when did Daryl Murphy become prime Diego Costa #nffc

Darryl Murphy and Jack Colback are horrible, grisled professionals who are essential to teams keeping their head above water. Heroic performances for #nffc

That was a very ‘emotional’ game at #nffc. Got the luck today when needed but the players also earnt it through hard work. Colback, Murphy and Osborn superb.

Murphy was quality today by the way. So happy he got a goal. Had Jansson in his pocket. #nffc

Murphy was phenomenal today, everything you want from a target man, I was the first to slate the Osborn sub but happy to eat my own words because he was an integral part of that comeback. Yacob seamless transition to CB but if there’s a recall option for Worrall, we need it #nffc
