COMMENTARY
What a start fans were treated to in Leeds United’s home clash with Derby County, the Elland Road faithful drooling over what Ezgjan Alioski had to offer in the opening 45 minutes. A much criticised player by the home faithful at times this season, he was put into a left wing back role and flourished, constantly causing the Rams’ defence problems with his lightning fast feet and movement. He should have had a penalty in the opening minutes, the linesman getting an offside decision horribly wrong, and it appears as though that injustice fired him up for what was a brilliant display. His critics have gone silent, for Twitter is ablaze with praise for the 26-year-old, and if he performs like this for the rest of the season then it is only going to be adoration coming his way from the supporters. It will all depend on whether Marcelo Bielsa feels a tactic using him as a defender rather than solely a forward is a viable option in the long run.
