Jim White shared that according to his information Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani and chief executive Angus Kinnear knew nothing about “spygate” ahead of time.

The 62-year-old revealed that the Leeds duo had no idea that manager Marcelo Bielsa intended to send someone to check on Derby County ahead of his side playing them, nor did they know he had done similar in the past.

White then added that he had reached out to the Football Association this morning but as of yet nothing had emerged from them about the spy related scandal surrounding the Whites.

“It’s my information the owner Andrea Radrizzani at Leeds and the chief executive Angus Kinnear had no idea that this was something that Bielsa intended doing or has indeed done in the past and this is how this man works,” said White on talkSPORT (Monday January 14th, 9:21am).

“We’ve been onto the FA this morning, nothing coming out of them this morning, and nothing expected but having said that we will keep at them as they’re looking at it closely.

“But spygate had everything didn’t it.”

OPINION

Well it seems Radrizzani and Kinnear were caught off guard by the whole spy gate scandal just like everyone else was. It seems weird that the pair didn’t know about Bielsa’s past dabbles with spying either as you feel they would have done their homework when approving his appointment, and it seems like something that would have popped up. However what’s done is done and Leeds just need to hope no punishment comes from the spy related scandal that seems to have cause the football world to be a buzz. In fairness to Bielsa, whether you disagree with his off-field tactics or not, the manager did hold his hands up and admit a representative of Leeds was checking out Derby’s training ground on Thursday, as covered by the BBC Sport, so that is admirable to say the least. Though some will argue he only came out as having sent someone due to practically being caught red-handed as reports were everywhere about the spy scandal.
