Derby County have taken the significant step of contacting the Football Association over allegations of spying from Championship Leeds United in the latest twist in the saga, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper claim on their website that after the Rams had issued a statement confirming there had been an incident at the training ground involving a Leeds employee, they are set to take the matter further and have already been in touch with the FA over an investigation.
It is stated the FA are also in talks with the English Football League as Leeds face a punishment if any wrongdoing has been found to take place.

This whole turn of events, which comes on the eve of the clash between the two sides, is simply extraordinary and something unheard of in English football for a number of years.
