Aston Villa took a chance of Yannick Bolasie when they borrowed him from Everton for the season and sometimes it looks like a gamble that has paid off.

The 29-year-old winger has all the silky skills and tricks to get Villans fans off his seat but after witnessing him play his 21st Championship game for them against Hull City on Saturday, there’s one clear  annoying problem with him.

Bolasie cannot be replied upon as his form is basically like a rollercoaster ride this season as just when you’re about to give the Man of the Match award, he follows up with a performance that deserves no praise at all.

The 6ft 1in tall player (Source: Transfermarkt) is frustrating to watch for that reason and there must be a way to see him be more a consistent threat in the Villans’ team.

Dean Smith must act to try and find out how to get the best out of Bolasie whenever possible as when he is at his worst, like he was in the 2-2 with Hull City on Saturday, he’s a liability.

It was a new low for the winger against the Tigers as he was so careless in possession that even when Smith did hook the player roughly 60 minutes into the match, you felt he should have been quicker to get Bolasie off the pitch.

The 29-year-old has the skillset to be a sensation in the Championship and tear teams apart for the Villans but given you can’t bank on which version of him will turn up, it’s hard to see how he is ever going to look like a chance worth taking.

Given that Bolasie’s future at Everton looks bleak enough for them to send him out on loan, perhaps the player needs to find a way to address his form sooner rather than later if he wants to find it easy to get a new team in the summer.
