Leeds are ready to talk away from talks over Swansea winger Daniel James, according to Mirror journalist David Anderson.

He claims that they cannot agree a deal with Swansea and that could lead to them walking.

It’s not all bad news though as Anderson also claims that because of this, their interest in Bristol City’s Callum O’Dowda is growing.

O’Dowda has made 15 appearances for the ROI.

Anderson made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Wednesday morning.

OPINION

We like this. Leeds might have taken their time to get moving in the transfer window but now it looks like they’re ready to do decisive business. It sounds like Swansea’s valuation of James is too high and that means they’re growing stronger on O’Dowda. Leeds fans would have preferred to see James at Elland Road but O’Dowda is a serious talent too, and Bristol City fans do not want to lose him. It has been reported that Swansea want over £3.5million for James and that looks like it’s too much for Leeds. Leeds are on the verge of completing their first deal today, too, with Kiko Casilla jetting in for a medical ahead of an 18-month move. That should be completed today if the medical goes well and that would leave Leeds free to focus on landing their outfield targets, including O’Dowda. He seems to fit the Leeds mould – young, relatively inexpensive and talented. We could see that happening next.
