The January transfer window is halfway through and Leeds United fans are yet to see their side make a single signing – although it appears as though Marcelo Bielsa is keen to change that sooner rather than later.

There are a number of positions that the Whites could do with recruitment in and if speculation is to be believed, then a new goalkeeper and a winger are near the top of the Argentine’s priorities.

However, the manager’s number one focus on Wednesday was to address the ‘spygate’ saga and rather than burying the issue he just added more fuel to the fire, admitting he had sent a scout to the opposition training ground for every game this season.

His hour long press conference then saw him give a demonstration of the work that goes into preparing for a game, including a powerpoint presentation and huge amounts of statistical data.

While fascinating, his speech hardly gave supporters anything to look forward to this month – other than possible EFL sanctions if the officials decide he has broken some sort of rule.

However, in a bizarre twist of fate the manager has unwittingly admitted to keeping tabs on Swansea City’s Welsh international winger Daniel James, with sharp eyed Leeds fan @Isles98 spotting a video file titled “20 James win Swansea,” on the desktop of Diego Reyes – one of Bielsa’s first team coaches.

The 21-year-old, who has made 18 appearances for the Swans this season, is said by the Sun to be Leeds’ number one target this month and while paper speculation can often lead to disappointment, this all but confirms that Bielsa is chasing the Swansea man.

After much time wondering if their side are going to make a move this month, it is time for Leeds fans to get excited about a possible swoop.
