Some Aston Villa fans are understandably happy with the news that Andre Moreira is on the verge of leaving Villa Park. The Birmingham Mail has reported that the 23-year-old goalkeeper is set to have his loan deal at the West Midlands club terminated before the end of the month after failing to make much of an impact in England. Moreira has played just twice for the Villains, with both of his appearances coming in the Carabao Cup at the start of the season. Since then he has been nothing but a drain on the club’s resources, so Dean Smith has an easy decision to make on the Spanish shot-stopper. Villa fans seem to agree with Smith’s decision and you cannot blame them. Steve Bruce’s business in the summer was awful. He overspent yet still managed to leave the squad lacking any kind of balance. Moreira’s exit won’t mean much in terms of finances, but every little helps and Smith needs to sign a new defender or two before the end of the window.
