Atlanta United attacker Miguel Almiron is scheduled to undergo a medical with Newcastle United this afternoon (Wednesday), according to US-Paraguayan journalist Roberto Rojas.
The Low Limit Football host claimed via his personal Twitter account in the early hours of Wednesday morning that Almiron, 24, will take a private jet from London to Newcastle in order to finalise his switch to join the Premier League club.
It is understood that if all goes well, he will sign a contract with the Magpies.
From London, it’s expected he will take a private jet to Newcastle as a medical is scheduled for the afternoon and if all goes well, a contract will be signed with the Magpies.

Good move for Newcastle?
Almiron has in sensational form for Atlanta United last season as they won the MLS title.
He scored 13 goals and supplied 13 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions in the 2018 campaign and is widely seen as one of the best players in North American football.
The Paraguay international will surely walk straight into Rafa Benitez’s first team at St James’ Park in what is arguably one of the biggest signings that the Tyneside club has made in a very long time.
Newcastle fans are still on a high after beating Manchester City on Tuesday and it seems as though the good news is going to keep on rolling.

With Almiron jetting into the UK from the USA, it seems pretty much certain that this deal will now go through otherwise it will be a massive waste of time from the player’s point of view.
The attacker should pass his medical with flying colours and unless there are any late hitches, he could be a Newcastle player by the end of the day.
