OPINION
West Bromwich Albion have enjoyed a solid season so far in the Championship under Darren Moore despite some dodgy performances and results at times. One constant for the Baggies however has been the presence of Jake Livermore in midfield, with the 29-year-old appearing in all but one of their games in all competitions so far this term. The former Tottenham midfielder has been a good servant for the club since he arrived, and has now been rewarded with a fresh contract until 2022. As reported on Friday on the club’s official website, Livermore has committed his future to the club for another three-and-a-half years. These fans below are obviously happy with the club after this news, and you can see why. Livermore will be key for Albion if they are to successfully negotiate the dangers of the Championship and win promotion at the first time of asking. Even if that does not happen this season, he will be crucial to their hopes in the coming campaigns as well. This reaction reflects that.

Excellent, long term planning. We now need a long term midfield partner in the middle alongside him – perhaps a new signing come January. Morrison and Brunt are makeshift solutions. Barry is doing well, but I doubt he has more than 1 season after this in him.

Fantastic news. Class player and pro and without doubt the backbone of our team. This guy deserves a lot of credit for what he has been through and where he is now. Very underrated player imo
