Celtic are looking to carry out another loan raid on Paris Saint Germain with a temporary swoop for attacker Timothy Weah in January, according to The Celtic Star.

The Hoops news source claim that the Bhoys are looking to repeat the success they tasted with the capture of Odsonne Edouard, who signed on loan from the Champions League giants back in 2017 before turning his move permanent this summer, by snapping up the 18-year-old USA international in January in a deja vu move.

The eight cap teenager has featured three times for PSG’s first team this season, scoring twice, and is the son of former Ballon d’Or winner George Weah.

Good move for Celtic?

If Weah has the same skills his dad has then Celtic can consider themselves onto a winner.

They struck gold with Edouard last summer and it seems as though they want to repeat the same trick with the youngster, who is obviously not getting the game time he would like in the French capital.

The fact he has more international caps than senior appearances for PSG shows he is highly rated by those who know him on a national level and with the Hoops needing firepower up top he could offer an exciting option.

Of course, he is not proven at club level so there may be doubts over whether he has what it takes yet, but it seems a sensible gamble for the Bhoys.

Likely to happen?

Celtic were certainly happy with how things went with Edouard and if they struck up a positive relationship with PSG then this is definitely a move which can go ahead.

The French side would like him playing more regularly, he himself wants game time and the Hoops need more options up top.

It ticks a lot of boxes all round.
