Former Manchester City star Yaya Toure will jet into the UK after quitting Olympiakos and his agent is set to approach West Ham to see if they want to sign him, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claimed in their live transfer blog on Wednesday [12:47pm] that Toure’s agent will not only approach the Hammers as Crystal Palace are another team that could be offered the free agent powerhouse.

It is understood that the 35-year-old Ivory Coast international has already rejected moves to China and the US as his heart is set on a return to the Premier League.

Good move for West Ham?

Toure has only played four times this season and there must have been a big reason as to why his time at Olympiakos did not work out because he should have been one of the best players in Greece.

Instead he has failed to make a mark there and that is something that the Hammers should probably avoid.

Even though he is a free agent, the ex-Barcelona midfielder is more than likely going to demand big wages, so Manuel Pellegrini is better off looking for younger, cheaper talent in January.

Likely to happen?

It would be quite a typical move for West Ham to try and sign Toure.

They have already had Samir Nasri training with them as one of Pellegrini’s former players at Man City, so the chances of another arriving will be quite high.

However Toure is now 35 and the money involved in this deal could put the Hammers off making a deal.
