Rangers are set to travel to warmer climes in the winter break, with a training trip to Spain on the cards over the winter break, according to a report.

They are also set to play a friendly against HJK Helsinki as part of the deal that saw Alfredo Morelos come to Rangers for £1m.

The Four Lads Had a Dream tweet claimed this could be at Ibrox before the cup game on January 19 but that detail is still to be confirmed.

Rangers have four league games before the winter break and four wins would see them in a brilliant position at the top of the Premiership. That’s the dream, but it won’t be easy, with a double header against Hibs before the massive Old Firm clash on December 29. This is actually shaping up to be a key fixture in the Premiership title race now. If Rangers can win all three games before this, the momentum will be huge and fans will believe they can inflict a defeat on their bitter rivals. For Gerrard it’s going to be his first Old Firm clash at Ibrox and with only 750 Celtic fans expected the atmosphere will be all blue and fierce. The short winter break will give the players a chance to recharge their batteries and it looks like Morelos will get a chance to catch up with his former teammates in a friendly game against Helsinki. That would be the perfect way to get the players back to match fitness before the cup game against Cowdenbeath.
