COMMENTARY
One of the biggest disappointments of this season for Rangers fans was seeing winger Jamie Murphy ruled out for the entire season after a serious injury blow which required surgery on his knee. The former Brighton man was one of the bright sparks last season and looked set to take things to the next level under Steven Gerrard – an opportunity which was so cruelly taken away from him. However, the behind-the-scenes update posted on his official Twitter account is an exciting one as it shows him working on the road to recovery and it is no surprise to see the supporters’ reactions wishing him every bit of luck they have to offer. They would love to see him out on the pitch, feeding balls into the box for the likes of Alfredo Morelos and while his absence has meant Ryan Kent and Glenn Middleton have picked up more game times – two of the most impressive youngsters the Gers have on their books right now – you know Gerrard would also appreciate his experience and expertise to call upon this season. Still, things are looking good and the fans will be counting down the days until they see him in action again.
Phase 1. Recover from surgery ?? Phase 2. Strengthen that knee!!!
