BBC Sport pundit Tam McManus has blasted Rangers for their ‘absolutely woeful’ performance against Dundee on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s side struggled to a 1-1 draw at Dens Park, having to come from behind through Andy Halliday’s free kick after former Gers frontman Kenny Miller put the hosts in front.

McManus was, it’s safe to say, less than impressed: “Wouldn’t like to be in that Rangers dressing room after that performance,” he said on his personal Twitter account.

“Absolutely woeful. Credit to Dundee though outstanding desire, spirit and heart to dig out a precious point. Gerrard’s interview [will] be interesting” he finished.

OPINION

You expect better from Gerrard’s side than this sort of performance. They were dismal against Dundee and really didn’t deserve any more than what they got on Sunday. They had to come from behind and it was only a moment of pure genius from Halliday that got them anything at Dens Park. McManus is absolutely right to blast Rangers because they need to do better than this if they are to seriously challenge Celtic this season. Brendan Rodgers’s side produced a terrific display on Saturday and so for Gers to lay an egg in such a manner is rather disconcerting. We’ve seen Gerrard’s team do this a few times this campaign and it’s getting to be a bit of a problem. They looked flat on Sunday and that’s been the case on more than one occasion this term. Obviously it could have been worse if they’d lost the game, but they weren’t far off and Gerrard will be bitterly disappointed with his players.
