BBC and BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has included three of Celtic’s table-topping stars in his Team of the Week, after their 5-1 demolition job on Kilmarnock.

Killie dropped down to third after the defeat and were replaced by Brendan Rodgers men, who now sit two points above Rangers with a game in hand.

Sutton posted his Team of the Week on his personal Twitter page on Monday morning.

No Rangers players made the cut after their disappointing 1-1 draw with struggling Dundee.

OPINION

After a slow start to the season, by Celtic’s standards, people were asking if they’d peaked and whether Rangers were going to give them a run in the Premiership. The truth seems to be that Celtic just took a bit of time to get into gear. Their results recently have been ominous for any of their rivals. 29 goals in the last eight league games proves there’s still a big rift between them and anyone else in the Premiership, Rangers included. Steven Gerrard’s men have been really poor by comparison, a 1-1 draw with Dundee proof that they rely completely on striker Alfredo Morelos who was suspended for this game. Gerrard might have moved them on a bit this season but they still can’t hold a torch to the Scottish champions. The Old Firm clash on December 29 is possibly Rangers last chance to prove they can hang onto their coattails and it’s going to take something big for them to come away with the three points at Ibrox.
