Bonne would be perfect for Rangers

If there is one area of the pitch that Rangers could do with improving, it is the attack – and Steven Gerrard must attempt to address the issue as soon as possible.

One way he could do that is by joining the race for Leyton Orient striker Macauley Bonne, who according to the Sun, has the likes of Newcastle and Leicester chasing after his signature.

However, it is the Gers who must propel themselves to the front of the queue for the highly-rated hotshot, as their attack lacks the potency needed to compete with rivals Celtic.

That is not to say that Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty are not talented options up front – they are, but it can be argued that they often lack the clinical edge in the final third.

That is where Bonne comes in – his prolific form has seen him grab 17 goals already this season as well as 25 in the last campaign.

That type of figure would no doubt attract a number of clubs, but Rangers is the club where the 23-year-old would thrive the most.

Valued at £500,000 [Sun], Bonne is a player who deserves to make the step up due to his blistering form – and with that price tag, a swoop for him is looking more attractive by the day.

The only way Bonne is going to become a better player is by being thrown into the deep end, and what a better way to do that then to be put into the mix at Rangers were club rivalry is at its most prominent.

Some fans may view a potential swoop as a major risk, but with a goal tally like that, it is clear to see that Bonne is a natural goalscorer and has the ability to adapt.

Gerrard needs a forward like Bonne as soon as possible in order to put all of his troubles to bed.
