OPINION

James Tavernier had an absolute shocker in Rangers’ 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road and you cannot blame this section of supporters for ripping the right-back to shreds. His set-pieces were awful, his crosses rarely found anyone and his miss in the second-half was simply unforgivable. It was such good play by the Gers in the build-up and Tavernier had such a simple task of hitting the ball past Hibs goalkeeper Adam Bogdan. However the right-back completely missed the ball as it was put on a plate for him to score, and the Hibs defence breathed a massive sigh of relief. It’s a common trend for Tavernier to get pelters, and usually we are quick to defend the Gers captain. However there is no defending him for the shocker he had in Leith on Wednesday. Unfortunately Steven Gerrard will not be improving his side if he drops Tavernier for Jon Flanagan.
