OPINION
Oli McBurnie simply has to join Rangers one day, doesn’t he? The Swansea centre-forward took to his personal Twitter account on Saturday night to claim that “Glasgow is blue” after the Gers beat Celtic 1-0 in the Old Firm derby at Ibrox. It understandably led to many Rangers fans urging the 6ft 2 (transfermarkt) powerhouse to ditch south Wales and head to Ibrox in the near future. McBurnie would be a class signing for the Gers even though he hasn’t been that prolific this season. He has scored just eight goals in 24 Championship appearances for Swansea, but Graham Potter’s side are struggling in the Championship and maybe he would flourish if he was to move to a team he loves like the Light Blues, who are now level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Steven Gerrard does need another forward in January, but the chances of Swansea wanting to cash in on McBurnie are low. It could happen one day, but it’s unlikely to happen at any point next month.
