Wolves must go in for Silva

Wolverhampton Wanderers must try to sign Leicester midfielder Adrien Silva in the January transfer window in order to propel the club to another level.

The club have undergone a resurgence of form recently following back-to-back wins over Chelsea and Newcastle, but there is one thing that Nuno Espirito Santo can do to rocket the club to new heights this season.

That is swooping for Silva, who the Telegraph report as being in line for an exit after struggling for game time under Claude Puel after his 2017 arrival for £22million.

While Wolves have the likes of Ruben Neves in the central midfield, the addition of the 29-year-old could be the final piece in the puzzle for Nuno.

Yes, he may not have bagfuls of experience in the Premier League – he has just 14 appearances to his name – but his top-level pedigree is clear to see with his 203 outings in Liga NOS, Portugal’s top-flight.

The fact he has not been Puel’s preferred midfield option this season will no doubt mean that he will want to seek regular first team opportunities elsewhere, as a player with his skill and ability does not deserve to be dismissed so easily.

A lot of clubs would be lucky to have someone like him on their books, and that club could be Wolves if they play their cards right.

He is more than capable of walking straight into Nuno’s starting XI with ease, and to be honest, the manager would be crazy not to swoop for a player like Silva.

His potential combination with Neves in the middle of the park would really be a sight to behold and it would undoubtedly send the Wolves fans wild with excitement.

The 5ft 9in [Transfermarkt] dazzler is just what Wolves need right now to be genuine competitors in the top-flight, so it is a swoop that is a no-brainer for Nuno.
