Crystal Palace are confident of signing Victor Moses from Chelsea in January, according to a report in the Evening Standard, but West Ham must try their best to steal the winger from under their noses.

The Nigerian international has been deemed surplus  to requirements at Stamford Bridge by Maurizio Sarri, and it is understood the the Eagles believe they have a good chance of luring him to Selhurst Park this winter.

The Hammers are named amongst the other clubs thought to be interested in the 28-year-old, and Manuel Pellegrini must make sure that his side force their way to the front of the queue for his services.

Moses knows what it takes to succeed in the Premier League having won the title with Chelsea in 2017, and with the Irons on their way up, he could be a valuable addition to the squad both on and off the pitch.

Pablo Zabaleta is a fine player, but at 34 is approaching the end of his career, and the wide man could be the perfect replacement for the Argentine having played in the position during the Blues’ title winning campaign.

The opportunity to sign a player like Moses rarely comes along, and West Ham director of football Mario Husillos must seize it.
