Declan Rice is well and truly a fan favourite at the London Stadium and West Ham supporters have even more reasons to like the 19-year-old after watching him wow against Southampton on Thursday. The teenager who has established himself as a regularly member of the Hammers’ midfield this season was impressive as not only was his passes neat but he ensured he won the battle for the ball in the heart of the pitch. There was even one moment in the first half where Rice put in the work to track back and cover for Michail Antonio after the makeshift right-back was caught at all odds and ends. For this reason in particular it was no surprise to see a large number of West Ham supporters dubbing Rice superb and outstanding although one fan backing the player to be able to walk on water was a very odd but creative way to show how highly they rated him. The Hammers including Rice ended up defeating Southampton 2-1 on Thursday.
