Former Arsenal and Everton frontman Kevin Campbell has included West Ham United midfielder Felipe Anderson in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The Brazilian scored what turned out to be the deciding goal in the Hammers’ 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace at the London Stadium on Saturday.

And Campbell was evidently delighted with the efforts of the former Lazio man: “Felipe Anderson has been really good for West Ham this year, and scored a huge goal to get them back into the game against Palace,” he wrote on the Sky Sports website.

Anderson has found his way into form over the past couple of months having endured a somewhat shaky start to his Hammers career.

OPINION

Anderson was terrific against Palace. He was lively thought and got his just rewards in the second half with a sensational goal that ultimately secured victory for Manuel Pellegrini’s side. The Brazilian has been electric for the last couple of months and has been scoring goals with regularity over recent weeks. He is now West Ham’s top goalscorer this season, demonstrating the huge influence he has had in East London. The 25-year-old cost a lot of money, that’s indisputable, but he appears to be worth every penny for the Hammers. He’s having a wonderful season and he just has that bit of extra quality that not many West Ham players possess. He can conjure up moments of magic and that will decide close games in the club’s favour over the course of the season. It’s now three straight wins for Pellegrini’s side and much of the credit for that run has to go to Anderson.
