Stan Collymore has predicted that West Ham United will share the spoils when they travel to St Mary’s Stadium to take on Southampton on Thursday.

The ex-Aston Villa player made his prediction for the clash between the two sides via his personal Twitter account, and he believes that the Hammers will draw 2-2 with the Saints.

The Irons secured a 2-0 win against Fulham a couple of weeks ago, but that winning streak was put to an end when they were subjected to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Watford at the weekend.

Southampton come into this match on the back of two consecutives wins over Arsenal and Huddersfield under new manager Ralph Hasenhüttl.

OPINION

A draw between these two sides seems the most probable result, especially after the mixed runs both teams have had recently. West Ham do not seem at their best without Marko Arnautovic and Lucas Perez, and their lack of attacking intent was plain to see on Saturday. Fingers crossed they can change this around for Thursday’s encounter, as Southampton look like a completely new side under their new boss. The win against Arsenal kickstarted their season properly, and since then, they have showed the quality the fans all know they have. This means that West Ham will have to be incredibly wary of this resurgent Saints team – as they really have the potential to cause them a lot of damage. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are more than capable of securing a point away from home, and if they are on form, they are capable of getting all three points. However, they really need to get their act together from now on.
