It is really heartening to see such a positive response to the news that Tottenham have handed Kyle Walker-Peters a new contract running until 2023. As reported on the club’s official website, the 21-year-old defender has penned terms to keep him at the club for another four-and-a-half years. This is a big boost for both him and the club, with Walker-Peters tipped to become a first-team regular for Spurs in the near future. The young flyer has found senior opportunities hard to come by this season, but looks set for the biggest night of his career on Tuesday when Spurs travel to Barcelona for a crucial Champions League clash. With Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier both injured, it looks highly likely that Walker-Peters will have to step up in their place, and that is a huge chance for him to stake his claim for more regular minutes.
