After a stunning run of results, Tottenham’s season took a nosedive when they lost in shock fashion to Wolves on Saturday.
Despite scoring the opening goal – a stunner from Harry Kane – Wolves scored three late goals to stun the Wembley crowd and put a big dent in Mauricio Pochettino’s title aspirations.
The manager said afterwards that his side lost their heads in the game but fans have pinpointed who they think is to blame and many of them want Kieran Trippier out of the club.
The full-back has come in for sustained criticism since his heroics in the World Cup with England and it seems that there are lots of Tottenham supporters who just don’t think he’s good enough for their club.
Trippier didn’t help his cause on Saturday, gifting the ball to Wolves on numerous occasions in the second-half, and he was directly responsible for at least one of the three goals.
Ben Davies picked up some stick too but Trippier is the man Spurs fans have targeted, with one saying he is an “embarrassment” to the club and others that he is blocking Kyle Walker-Peters route into the first-team.
