Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to axe winger Lucas Moura to the bench for the team’s visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Spurs go into the game in stunning form, putting five past Bournemouth without reply on Boxing Day as they moved to second in the Premier League table.

Moura, on a reported £75,000-a-week [Source: Spotrac], scored in that game, but Pochettino’s penchant for rotation will likely see him replaced by fellow wideman Erik Lamela at the weekend.

The Argentine will probably make another two changes alongside that one, with Juan Foyth and Danny Rose expected to drop out for Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies.

In goal, Hugo Lloris appears to have recovered from a minor slump at the start of this season and will almost certainly continue between the sticks, while Toby Alderweireld has been terrific and will likely keep his place at the heart of the defence.

Kyle Walker-Peters was phenomenal against the Cherries and as such he will surely start here. Foyth and Rose, however, will probably be victims of Pochettino’s rotation, with Sanchez and Davies adequate replacements for them.

The central midfield duo of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko has impressed in recent weeks and it would be a big shock if either man were omitted here. Likewise for Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min who were both terrific last time out.

As mentioned, Lamela will likely come in for Moura, while the irrepressible Harry Kane is a dead ringer to lead the line once again.
