Tottenham are considering making an offer for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, according to the Sun.

The newspaper reports on its website that Spurs have attended all of the 18-year-old’s matches this season, with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig also registering a keen interest in the young ace.

The report adds that Tottenham could make a £15 million move for Aarons, but with Norwich not under any pressure to sell, their only hope of securing the highflyer’s services would be loaning him back out to the Canaries in January for the rest of the season.

Good move for Tottenham?

Tottenham are pretty strong in all departments at the moment, so it remains to be seen whether moving for Aarons is completely necessary. The report states that Spurs would have to loan him back out to Norwich if they were to sign him, so it is hard to judge whether it would be a good move in January. Yes, he would increase Mauricio Pochettino’s squad depth – but that is about it. He is a bright prospect, but a move seems pointless at the moment.

Likely to happen?

Yes, it is likely to happen – but only if Spurs would be willing to loan him back for the rest of the season. Apart from that, Norwich are not under any pressure to sell in January – selling the likes of James Maddison has done them dividends financially – so actually signing him may be less likely than Spurs originally thought. £15 million is a lot of money for a player so young, but this type of offer will not tempt Norwich in January, especially after their business in the summer.
