OPINION
On a night that will go down as one of the greatest in the club’s European history, there were plenty of heroes in white. From goalscorer Lucas Moura to defensive titan Toby Alderweireld and talisman Harry Kane, Tottenham stood up to be counted to secure the result they needed to progress to the Champions League knockout stage. The 1-1 scoreline was the least Mauricio Pochettino’s side deserved for a performance full of quality, character and belief. They bossed it in the Camp Nou, something barely any side has done in the last decade. At the heart of an outstanding team performance was the ace string-puller Christian Eriksen. He was magnificent with his vision, passing and technical ability, and set the tempo for a fully deserved draw that helped the team come back from the abyss in their mission impossible last-16 qualification bid. Little wonder there was so much love for the great Dane on social media:

Christian Eriksen was absolutely amazing tonight – midfield masterclass – away at Barcelona. Incredible.
Danny Rose was great as well, looked back to his best which is great news! Levels above Davies.

Why would Eriksen join Barcelona?
Maybe Messi will want a swap deal ..— • ????? ????s • (@fullback03) December 11, 2018
Eriksen was brilliant 2nd half. Skme of his passing was incredible. Rose booming forward and Sissoko was actually very good at right back. Thought Kane led the line so well.

Danny Rose and Eriksen both MOTM material. Rose was excellent and he needs to be first choice whenever fit. What a player. Shades of his 15/16 self. #COYS
