Everton striker Cenk Tosun is set for talks with Fenerbahce boss Ersun Yanal as the Turkish Super Lig club attempt to convince him of a January switch, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish newspaper report that Tosun is not keen on a return to Turkey despite his struggles in the Premier League, with the striker prepared to continue his career elsewhere in England if he leaves the Toffees.

Fanatik claim that Fenerbahce boss Yanal is however set to attempt to change Tosun’s mind in extensive talks with the 27-year-old in which he will set out his plans for the season and illustrating his potential importance to the side.

Good move for Everton?

No.

Despite his struggles, Tosun could well end up playing a part for the Toffees over the course of the season, with Marco Silva’s side still crying out for someone to step up in attack.

The Turkey international may have failed to make an impact so far, but his goalscoring feats in Turkey and in the Champions League prove there is a player in there somewhere.

Letting him go in January would be slightly premature, and they must resist any attempts from Fenerbahce to sign him.

Likely to happen?

No.

It looks like Tosun is keen on remaining at Everton, and that is the most important thing here.

It is unlikely that the club will look to ship him out mid-season, so a January switch to Fenerbahce looks unlikely unless Yanal pulls off a miracle in this reported meeting.
